What makes linkedin successful
The very essence of LinkedIn is trust. People will not Connect with me or purchase my services before they trust my personal brand enough to have that conversation. Every keystroke you make on LinkedIn is either enhancing or deterring from the trust value people have of your personal brand.
Therefore, you should be careful when doing anything on LinkedIn and conduct your activity through the lens that everything you do is influencing trust in your personal brand.
You may not agree with everything you see on LinkedIn, but you should always offer any opinion you have in a highly respectful manner, so the trust continues to build in your personal brand. Often people will go onto LinkedIn without a strategy in place. They will spend time answering questions, going onto content that they might find interesting and Comment, Share and Like this content.
Ask yourself, however, is that helping you to develop our personal brand and a strategy around LinkedIn? Someone once told me if you spend enough time on any social media platform you will probably end watching a video of a cat or a dog! So, if Donald Trump Tweets something ridiculous on a given morning, I may find it interesting or entertaining, but would I share it on LinkedIn? Would I Comment on it on LinkedIn? Be mindful of having a strategy on LinkedIn. People begin to find you interesting and respect you as a consequence of the things you share.
Too many people expect instant fixes from their time spent on LinkedIn. We build our personal brands slowly. Trust is never built in a moment or in a day, it builds over a period of time. Therefore, be patient in building that respect that that audience will deliver to you over a period of time.

I thought your session was one of the most useful aspects of the career development programme on the MBA. Take action, with even just one voice message. If someone makes contact with you, with an inquiry or question, leave them a voice message in reply Try it! In your LinkedIn posts, ask for action. Don't just expect people to comment, like, and share. If you want them to do something, ask them to comment properly.
You can use polls and other tools to get interactivity, but don't be afraid to ask - people will usually be receptive and willing to show themselves out there too. This last tip is my cheeky way of getting in front of other people and getting to a broader network. As well as including hashtags, try to use mentions.
These are all completely legitimate ways of communicating on LinkedIn. But it's these clever little tactics that will just make the difference of reaching more people and further exposing your brand. Sure, if you're applying for jobs you can access openings from other job boards; there are plenty of those out there. However, LinkedIn offers other perks. These days, many companies maintain their own LinkedIn pages where they'll update company information, share company news and insight, and showcase current employees.
If the company knows what it's doing, you should get a good, solid feel for its culture and its people to make sure it's a fit for you before diving into the interview process or accepting a job. Like other social networking sites, LinkedIn aggregates a timeline when you log in. There, you'll find news updates from your connections, your groups, and your company. It's both fun and wise to keep tabs on industry trends and reports. Even if you're an introvert and hate networking events, you can still foster meaningful LinkedIn connections.
Through LinkedIn, you can build a relationship with mutual connections, folks in your field, and even your greatest role models.
